Stickers

Old magazines, comic books or gift wrap
2 tsp. flavored gelatin
5 tsp. boiling water
Paintbrush

Time needed: Under 1 Hour

Step 1:
Cut a bunch of pictures from the magazines, comic books or gift wrap.
Step 2:
With a small paintbrush, coat the backs of the cutouts with a thin layer of gelatin solution. Let dry, and the stickers are ready to lick and stick.

Misc.

These are some misc. substitutes that can come in real handy.
  • Light Corn Syrup 1 cup + 1 Tbsp granulated sugar & 1/4 C water
  • Dark Corn Syrup 1 cup + 1 Tbsp brown sugar & 1/4 cup water
  • Gluten & dairy free maple syrup or honey can also be used as a corn syrup replacer
 

Dairy

= to 1 C of orginial Dairy Product
 
Butter
1cup dairy free margarine & 1 1/2 Tbsp water
 
Butter Milk
1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar or lemon juice topped up to 1 cup with gluten & dairy free milk alternative (soy milk, potato milk)
allow the liquid to stand for 4 to 6 minutes before dadding to a recipe
 
Double or heavy Cream
2/3 cup milk alternative & 1/3 cup melted dairy free margarine
 
Single or light Cream
1/4 Cup milk alternative & 1/4 cup melted dairy free margarine
 
Evaporated Milk
use Single Cream as listed above
 
Sweetened Condensed Milk
1/2 Cup Dari-Free, 3/4 cup Sugar, 2 Tbsp dairy free margarine, 1/2 tsp xanthan gum or guar gum
Mix all the ingredients together well
Bring slowly to a boil over a med. heat stirring constantly
Boil for 1 minute or until thick & bubbling stirring constantly
Chill liquid before adding to recipe
